Hello from Pecan Bluff Farm!
We are in the middle of summer farming, which often means pulling weeds, watching for poison ivy and keeping the mosquitoes at bay. With all the good spring rains we’ve had we are in good shape heading into the driest months of our year. We are so thankful for a year-long growing season here in Central Texas ~ no matter the season, we can still garden and grow good things to eat!
This is Haden nicely plowing an area of the garden for us this week, with his granddad close at hand for guidance. What a blessing to have the experience of grandparents to help us teach our kids these important things. Then Houston came next, doing a great job, too. We are very proud of these two hard-working farm boys. They are both smart and really excel in their school work. It’s a bonus that they are capable in so many practical ways, as well. Our family appreciates all they do.
We are no longer regular vendors at the Waco Downtown Farmer’s Market, so please contact us by email if you would like to inquire about what we have available. And visit our Facebook page for more frequent updates, sales, and pictures of life here at Pecan Bluff. Happy summer!
